The 2013/14 academic year has been my first year as Chair of Governors. One of the first challenges I faced with the school was the November OfSTED inspection in which staff, governors and most of all the children worked extremely hard to achieve a good result with outstanding features.

During the course of the year I have had the opportunity to spend lots of time at school getting to know the children and staff. I have had the pleasure of accompanying the children on a trip to the Blue Planet Aquarium and seeing the Samba band perform with the Halle orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall which was a really special experience. I even had the opportunity to dress up as a Princess to read stories to children in Nursery and Reception!

This year has also seen an improvement in SATS’s results so a big well done to the children and teachers.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first year as Chair and love working with the school. I would just to like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to those parents who have supported the school. I would also like to say thank you to all the fantastic staff for their hard work and continued support and to the rest of the Governing body for their support. I would also like to say a big thank you to the children for always making me feel so welcome and always making me smile. Finally thanks must also go to Mr Cummings for his hard work and dedication to the school and leading the team to ensure the school continues to develop and improve all the time.

As the reigning champions of the Libraries’ Summer Reading Challenge, the school is keen to win the challenge again this year so don’t forgot to take the children to the library this summer!

Have a lovely Summer,

Stephanie Booth
