Partial Solar Eclipse
This morning my class and I watched the partial eclipse on BBC news from 9am until 10am. During the eclipse, it went a bit dark outside however in Faroe Islands it was completely pitch black for about a minute. Mr Cummings (our head teacher) showed us a picture of the moon coming in front of the sun that he had taken in our playground. The moon looked like a smiley face. An eclipse is when the moon slowly moves in front and blocks the sun but after a few seconds it goes back to normal and we can see the sun again. The BBC website told us that the next eclipse will be in America in 2017 and in 2021 there will be one in Antarctica.
We have included the pictures that our head teacher took this morning for you to see.

Friday 13th March 2015 – Rocket World
The children in year 2, 3, 5 and 6 took part in Rocket World where students from Manchester University came into our school to share with us information about the country they come from. The children learned about what types of food are eaten, the types of clothes that are worn, how to greet people and lots of other information about different countries in our world. Each child received a Rocket World Passport to keep so they could continue to find out information about the countries after the event had finished. We really enjoyed it and learned lots of new facts! We have included the pictures on the website for you to look at.
