Year 2 – Miss Lumb

Welcome to class 2L.

Our teacher is Miss Lumb.

There are 30 children in our class. Mrs. Millington and Mrs. Coxon help us with our learning on some mornings, including extra reading sessions. We are learning to develop our inference and deduction skills as well as learning new vocabulary.

Our lessons are exciting and we enjoy learning new things in English and maths. In English we are learning to find information in a text, we are writing our own stories, poems and reports. We are trying to include all the elements of spelling, punctuation and grammar in our writing. Through drama and role play we are trying to become more confident speakers and better listeners. In maths we are finding lots of different ways to work out problems and often discuss our ideas with a partner. This half term we will focus on number bonds, counting in groups and place value.

When we work hard we are rewarded. Sometimes we go and show our work to Mr. Cummings and he gives us a special award because he is very proud of us.
