Welcome to Year 6!

So you’ve made it to Y6 and are now the oldest (and hopefully wisest) children in our school.  This year will be challenging but fun and exciting at the same time. Year 6 brings rewarding responsibilities to help around the school as Sports Ambassadors, Head Pupils, Librarians and so much more!

Throughout this year we will be working hard to improve our English and Maths work, as well as learning about some very interesting topics in our Foundation Subjects. For term by term details of our curriculum, please investigate the school website.

Year 6 can be daunting, but most of what we expect from you hasn’t changed.  Please continue to read every week and remember to change your reading book and your library book each week. Though we will want to check you have read and understood your reading book!  Spellings are given out each Friday to be tested for the following Friday. Homework will also be given out on a Friday to be completed and returned for Wednesday. Please do not forget your PE kit for PE on Wednesdays!

The Year 6 team is here to support all children in our classes and provide help throughout the year. We have high expectations of behaviour and expect you to  work to the best of your ability throughout your time in Year 6.

We look forward to a fantastic year and we can’t wait to see how each and every one of you develops and matures academically and personally throughout this year.

Thank you for your continued support.

Mrs Hardy and Miss Burgess
